Mark Gold is the associate vice chancellor for environment and sustainability and an adjunct professor at the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at UCLA, and has worked in the fields of water pollution, water supply, integrated water management, and coastal protection for the past twenty-five years. In addition, he has worked extensively on the development of sustainable city plans for Los Angeles and Santa Monica, and is currently leading the Sustainable LA Grand Challenge, with countywide goals of 100 percent renewable energy, 100 percent local water, and enhanced ecosystem and human health by 2050.
